May 15, 2024
Beginning with the 2024-25 membership season, U.S. Ski & Snowboard will be implementing additional screening protocols for adult members participating in Pennsylvania.
ALL RESIDENTS of Pennsylvania and those participating in US Ski & Snowboard sanctioned events held within the state are required to complete the State of Pennsylvania mandated clearances IN ADDITION TO the NCSI Criminal Background Screen. Each of these PA Clearances is valid for 5 years, while the NCSI screening must be completed every other season.
The PA search is determined by one of two ways.
The registrant's current address is in PA.
The registrant indicates that they will be participating in PA.
Members who no longer live in the state do not need the additional clearances unless they will be participating in PA.
Those fitting in one or both of the above criteria will be required to upload PA Act 153 Clearances. Those clearance documents include the following items.
Child Abuse Clearance
State Police Criminal Background Check
FBI Criminal History Background Check or A Volunteer Affidavit can be used in lieu of an FBI Check by anyone who has lived in PA for the last 10 consecutive years AND is participating as a volunteer with US Ski and Snowboard.
Please have those documents in jpeg, pdf, or .docx (less than 10MB) format available on your computer prior to beginning your background screening registration.
PLEASE NOTE: Background Screens will remain pending with NCSI until all compliant Pennsylvania clearances are received, or until 90 days, when screenings must be canceled.
If there is a problem with any of your Pennsylvania documents, you will hear from [email protected] for more/additional information.
Once NCSI has processed your clearances and the criminal screening, the NCSI background screen results will be finalized and transmitted to US Ski & Snowboard.
You will also need a digital copy of a government issued ID.
Sincerely,
U.S. Ski & Snowboard Member Services
