PARA SKI RACING SAFETY MATCHING GRANTS INITIATIVE

(B-Netting Matching Grants Program)

The PARA Ski Racing Safety Initiative provides matching grants of up to $2,000 to member clubs in good standing to support the club’s purchase of B-Nets and other ski racing safety equipment.  PARA grants are awarded through two rounds of applications and are subject to the budget limits for the program established by the Directors at the Spring PARA meeting each year.

Round 1

Objective:  Round 1 grants are for those clubs who commit to apply for a Kelly Brush Foundation (KBF) matching grant that same year, AND commit to apply to KBF for the combined amount of both the club’s funds and the amount requested from PARA.  

Application Deadline: 6 PM on 2nd-to-last Friday in May (e.g. 5/23/25)

Required Information:

• Name and email address of club contact;
• Amount of funds to be provided by the club;
• Match requested from PARA; 
• Amount the club intends to request from KBF (i.e. double the two amounts above), and
• A quote from the vendor showing the equipment to be purchased at KBF pricing. (Clubs should request “KBF Pricing” from vendors to receive discounted pricing on B-nets.)  

Submission:  Send an email to the PARA Executive Committee with the required information.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Response Date:  By June 3rd of each year.

Additional Information:  Round 1 awards are conditional on successful award of a KBF grant that matches the combined total of both the club and PARA funds (not just matching the club funds).  No other application is required for Round 1 funding.  For clubs awarded PARA grants in Round 1, the netting Chair will provide the club with a letter stating PARA will match the club's funds for the KBF application.

Round 2

Objective:  Round 2 grants do not require the club to apply to KBF, but clubs are required to complete a PARA Safety Grant Application.  

Application Deadline: 6 pm on September 30th

Required Information:   ROUND 2 - PARA Safety Net Grant application 

Submission:  Send an email to the PARA Executive Committee with the completed PARA Safety Net Grant application attached.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Response Date:  By October 31st

Additional Information:

Round 2 applications are subject to PARA funds remaining after Round 1 decisions are made. 

General Program Information:

PARA Funds are only available for B-Net purchases.  PARA Funds are paid to the vendor supplying the B-Nets to the club (e.g., World Cup Supply or Reliable Racing, etc.) after the club has paid its portion to the vendor.  PARA does not provide the funds directly to the applicant club or reimburse a club for equipment already purchased.   

To receive payment on a grant awarded by PARA, please provide the vendor invoice showing the club’s payment has been made and that the PARA portion remains due, and the KBF award letter if applicable.
